We dig in concrete-set posts (no "sat on top" trips), use treated UK softwood as standard and finish with end-grain protectors so panels don't wick. How deep are fence posts set for Midlands wind exposure?

Typically at least around a third post height below ground, often roughly 600mm for a 1.8m panel in normal domestic use, with concrete bedding and kickback where we hit soft fills. Hedgerows and unusually exposed ridges get beefier detailing.

Can you match existing fence panels on one side only?
